Loving Photography
Photography is a wonderful thing!

It can be the most fastidious of art forms at times, and the most serendipitous at others.

A photographer can travel to a distant corner of the world and get up in the middle of the night - just to be ready and waiting when the sun first comes up over some chosen landscape.

Or sit in a ‘blind” without moving for six hours, knowing that, with no trees around, a bear will eventually show up and scratch its back on that traffic sign in the middle of nowhere.

On the other hand, catching that fabulous photograph may be as easy as being ready to see it, when it accidently appears along your path - as happened with one of my favorite shots seen on the left.

Photos In Art . . .
Due to the popularity of scrapbooking, collage, and “altered art”, photographs have become a staple in the paper arts studio. Unfortunately, there are not very many to choose from that are not old, old, old. That was the reason for the Cre8it Art Safe - to provide contemporary images with very liberal usage rights, so artists could broaden their horizons. Offering these images as high resolution files on CD meant they could be resized and retouched and used in an infinite number of ways.

But, lately there has been a demand for transparencies and translucent sheets (i.e. vellum), and since we have the best materials for such things right here at Cre8it, we have selected a collection of our Art Safe images to offer to you as . . .

Transparencies . . .
Six image sheets are available in this first offering - printed in waterproof ink on your choice of Sheer Heaven (vellum-looking) or Magic Matte Waterproof Transparency Film (transparent).

You can even order the Sheer Heaven sheets “transfer” style - which means we will print the images in reverse so you can use them to make Sheer Heaven inkjet transfers on any porous surface.

We tried to choose a selection of images that are very narrative - in other words, they serve as sort of story-starters for you art.

You can see all six sheets here or just click the Transparencies button on the Cre8it Home Page.

Although we’ve made the online versions as crusty as we can so they will be useless to thieves, the images on the actual transparencies are high resolution, 300dpi prints for the best possible quality.

And Speaking of Photographs . . .
Since the home page got its most recent facelift - to the changing landscapes version, I have received lots of email wanting to know where those photos were taken - and how they were taken in some instances. Some of the photos do involve tips, actually, and I will share them too, but rather than discuss all six photos at once, I'll talk about them one by one. Actually, I have to get out into the studio today and test some of the CHA booty, so I don’t have much time left, but here is the story of Landscape #1
Sedona, Arizona . . .
The first landscape in our slideshow actually was taken by my brother. It is unusual for me to use anyone else’s photo, but this is one of the best Sedona shots I have ever seen - you can even see the village itself nestled in the valley - and the light was just right.

Sedona has several “vortices” which are thought by many to be places of particularly strong spiritual energy. This is the vortex located near the Sedona Airport, and it also offers one of the best views of the Red Rock country - but you have to do a little hiking. My niece had gotten married the day before on a rock ledge that looked a lot like this one.
