Digital Fabrics come in two file formats. Flat Fabrics are high resolution (300ppi) TIFF files that can be opened and printed in most software. Colors and the size of design elements can be changed in PhotoShop or PhotoShop Elements (or like software). Layered Fabrics are also high resolution (300ppi), but they are Layered PhotoShop Documents which can be changed in an infinite number of ways by working Layer by Layer. They can then be saved as Flat Fabrics if you so desire.

Our “Working with Digital Fabrics” CD teaches you how to change Digital Fabrics to suite your needs.

Digital Fabrics are purchased in the Shopping Cart like any other product and will be delivered on a custom-burned CD. They are not currently available as Download products because of file size. Digital Fabrics can be combined in an order with Virtual Rubber Stamps and burned to the same CD.

Digital Fabrics may be printed on any paper, of course, and on the growing number of inkjet fabrics on the market (we do not sell these). Some artists iron white or cream fabric from the fabric store to freezer paper and run it through their printers. There is even an extra heavy, precut freezer paper made for this purpose.

This is an area of interest that is rapidly expanding and opens exciting new vistas to alll multi-media artists.

Working With Digital Fabrics . . .
includes a Ten Chapter Book in PDF format and Fifteen Digital Fabric Files, Twelve of them in both file formats.

In the same simple, step-by-step format you love in our magazine and newsletter, this CD offers tutorials using PhotoShop and PhotoShop Elements which teach you how to adapt these Digital Fabric files to any project you may be working on.

You learn how to work painlessly with PhotoShop Layers, how to change the fabric colors in several different ways, how to resize the elements in the fabric design, and how to apply filters.

The end result is an endless supply of fabrics in the colors you want to use in any project.

Of course, it goes without saying that you can also print on paper - giving you an endless supply of decorative papers as well.

This is exciting stuff, and when combined with Digital Quilt Blocks (coming in July 2005), it offers easy entry into the world of fabric arts and the fascinating combinations of fabric and paper.

This CD includes over $70 in Digital Fabric files.

Some fabrics are offered only in Flat Fabric format due to the nature of their design.

If the Fabric is offered in both formats, choose the one you wish in the drop down menu in the item description. Flat Fabrics are $3.50 and Layered Fabrics are $5.00. Prices are based on usage rights and there is a lot more leeway with the Layered Fabric format.

If you are purchasing or you already own the Working With Digital Fabric CD, make sure to notice whether the Fabric you are considering buying is already on your CD. The description in the Shopping Cart will tell you.
