These interesting symbols originated with the Plains Indian Tribes, where they were used in “Winter Counts”, a sort of illustrated calendar history of the year. Each month is represented by the moon and some picture of what that month would bring. These are wonderful for personalized birthday cards, shrink art or clay pendants and charms, calendars. tiles etc. They look great framed with an Ancient Frame stamp to make a larger and more complex design element.
