Simple-Mount - A Short-Cut, Hurry-Up System - That Works!
One day, we wanted to use a new unmounted stamp in a hurry and we hadn’t made it into a magnet yet. We grabbed the stamp, slapped it with some double stick tape onto an acrylic block and stamped away. Fast and easy. But, after so many years of “mousing” our way through computer graphics, our hands were not happy with their “posture” on that heavy acrylic block. So, we grabbed an 1/8" thick piece of acrylic that was sitting there for some other project and used it instead. It worked just as well, we could see through it better, and it was lightweight and easier to hold. So the Simple-Mount idea was born.
And that led us to be able to launch our Red Letter Typesetting Alphabets which had been waiting for a logical mounting system. It was a very good day indeed. Click the fish for Simple-Mount choices.
Most mounting systems are based on some method of using a thick, heavy acrylic block. This is a very different feel and hand position from what we were used to.
Our magnetic mounting system is primarily for the stamp artist who likes the feel of a wood mounted stamp, doesn’t mind not being able to see through the mount, wants to organize and store her/his collection of stamps neatly, and actually enjoys some time spent in “tool preparation” - to turn those unmounted stamps into little magnets. Stamps can be stored on both sides of cookie sheets and hung on the wall or stacked on each other.
