Look Inside Volume 10, July, 2006:

Using large beads and charms, a new kind of beading cord, and a very old craft material, we construct a jingly-jangle Treasure Necklace that is fun to wear.
Everyone is taken with the romance of Italy, but it is even more special when viewed through artist eyes. Take a trip to Umbria, the Italian ceramics district and see a house sized kiln that has survived since the Rennaisance!
Our big project this issue is about creating a special kind of Native American good luck doll - made in pairs and given as a blessing at wedding ceremonies. Of course, these dolls can bless any other type relationship as well. These aren’t really glass but they sure look like it - and they are completely weatherproof. A great gift for a gardener friend, and a good way for you to remember where those perennials are in your own garden.
Casting silver charms is another thing you can’t usually try at home, but we have a way of making charms that look like silver - and work great with our cloisonné technique.
Our Art school 101 articles have always been a favorite part of our magazine, and this time we talk about some positive aspects of negative space and the movement of picture elements. Everybody loves cloisonné, but not everyone is lucky enough to have a kiln. We have come up with a brand new method of “cold enameling” that is non-toxic and air cured.
How does a simple leaf turn into a beautiful and complicated piece of art? And a brand new magazine? And how do you know it will?

It’s all in how you see things - how well you can spot the clues and follow the Muse.

Our A·Muse·ings section this time takes you along the path we followed on this particular day led by this little leaf.

NOTE: This is not a print magazine - though you may easily print it. It is a PDF document which can be read and printed with free Adobe Reader software.
