Step 1. Cut a long (18"or so) piece of 22 gauge copper wire. Align the center of the piece of wire with the front of the bottle neck. Take both tails to the rear, and twist them around each other once. Bring both tails back to the front and repeat the single twist (as shown).
Step 2. Feed a series of embellishment beads onto the right hand tail and push them all the way to the top. Make a small loop at the end of the tail of wire with the round nose pliers. The reason for this loop will become obvious later.
Step 3. Starting at the loop, wind the wire tail around a piece of 1/8" dowel all the way to the top.
Step 4. Repeat Steps 2 and 3 on the left hand wire tail. Leave them both as they are for the moment, so they will stay out of the way while you add more wire.
Step 5. Cut an equally long piece of the very thin gold wire. Do a double neck wrap and twist, back and front like you did with the copper wire. Coil both tails using the bamboo skewer.
Step 6. You may feed tiny beads onto this smaller wire before coiling if you wish. If you choose not to do that, your bottle will now look like this picture.
Finishing Touches: Finishing off is simply a matter of stretching out and shaping these wire coils until you like the look. They will pretty much stay where you put them. As you stretch the larger gauge (copper) wire, you will see that the beads which had been grouped at the top, will start to journey down the coils. With movement of the bottle, they will eventually work their way all the way to the end - which is why you are glad that you made a loop there. You can keep the beads distributed more evenly along the length of the coil by trapping them inside coils that you tighten a little so the bead cannot move.
Your Treasure Bottle is now ready to give away or move to some dramatically lit spot in your own home. Groups of these in different sizes look really wonderful arranged on a side table or dresser top.
