| Step 6. Gather the wooden pieces you have chosen for embellishments and check them for blemishes or rough spots that may need sanding. I chose wooden stars of different sizes and some wood pieces that looked like little jars to use as feet. The pieces of dowel that you see in our picture are to help paint and dry those feet.
The idea I have in mind is to glue glittery stars to the sides and at either end of the slot on top of the box as embellishment, and then to use four of the stars (different sizes) with the little jars to create the unusual feet you see in the finished picture at the beginning of this article.

| Step 7. Using black Patio Paint, paint the stars and jars on all sides.
If you put the jars on the ends of the dowels, you can paint all the sides at once. Stick the dowels into a block of styrofoam to dry.

| Step 8. Patio Paint will dry to a nice satin finish. I used a sea sponge to dab on Lumiere Interference Blue acrylic, which appears irridescent against the black.
When the Lumiere was dry, I sponged on clear embossing ink and embossed with irridescent powder. This gave the stars a sparkle without using glitter or other elements that might come off.

| Step 9. Use E6000 to glue the jar feet to all four corners of the bottom of the box.
This picture isnt really in sequence because I glued the feet on before embossing the stars on the sides and top. Your box will already have its star design at this point.
Choose four of the sparkle stars - two large and two smaller. When the E6000 on the jar feet has set, put a little E6000 on the bottom of them as well and stand the box up on the four stars to glue them to the feet. Let this set until the E6000 has cured.

| Step 10. To add just a little extra touch, I sponged clear embossing ink along the bottom edge of my box and embossed with the irridescent embossing powder. The effect is only visible from certain angles, but it helps tie the sparkle stars into the box. |

|
|
|
| Step 11. Use E6000 to attach some sparkle stars to the box. I used them to offset the slot and the section where the notepaper goes.
You may now add notepaper cut to size and a matching pencil or pen if your box has a space for them.
Thats it. Now all you have to do is figure out what to wish for!
