Joining the bookmarks into a set:

Step 1.
Choose eyelets in coordinated colors and set them at the top of each bookmark.

Sheer Heaven punches easily with the eyelet punch or a regular 1/8" paper punch.

Eyelets are available in a wonderful range of colors now and you will be able to find one to match your painting with no problem.

Step 2.
Cut four lengths of 18" Fringe Benefits, and attach each with a slip knot to one of the bookmarks.

We are using fringe as opposed to other string or fiber for a couple of reasons. Fringe has a wonderful “drape” which other cords and strings don’t have, so it won’t be sticking out awkwardly when the bookmarks are in your book. It lies very flat also, and doesn’t fray. We like it so much for our own projects, and it’s not easy to find, so we currently offer it at Cre8it in five color choices.

Step 3.
Tie all the fringe pieces together in a simple knot, and cut the excess to tassle length to finish the project.

Of course, you might want to get fancy at this point and add beads. If so, it should be done before cutting the fringe to tassle length. Dip the ends of each strand you wish to bead into FrayChek or Golden’s GAC 400 medium, and let dry. You will then have a stiffened end to feed through your beads - which may even be trimmed to a point with a scissors.

Now you can use them.
This is how the bookmarks will look when you use them.

They may be kept grouped at the back of the book until each is needed.

Because, even as a group, they are so thin and light weight, they will not be awkward or in the way, and because they are made of Sheer Heaven, they are close to indestructible.

Even when the book is standing on a bookshelf (see below), the bookmarks have a neat and attractive appearance.

These bookmark sets make a great gift for anyone who loves books, and they can be easily separated and used individually if so desired. Depending on your choice of stamps, you can create any number of themes for your sets.

Or, because Sheer Heaven can be inkjet printed so easily, you could make sets with photographs to use in memory books, etc.

The possibilities are truly endless.
