Dear Readers,

About Subscriptions: If you have subscribed and did not get an announcement of this issue, your spam filter could be the culprit. We simply do not have time to deal with the back-and-forth emails to get cleared by your filter. Subscriber announcements originate from our server site: www.dotcalmvillage.net. If you can set your spam filter to accept mail from certain domains, that’s the one to okay.

If you have not Subscribed and wish to, click this link (Subscribe) or the Subscribe button on the magazine home page to enter your email address, and you will receive announcements of publication of each new volume. The software will tell you if you have already subscribed so no harm done - you won’t be duplicated. You can also unsubscribe yourself and/or enter an updated email address if necessary.

Since we decided to make Now What? a big priority around here, we’re not sure what happened, but a surge of energy became evident, for sure. This issue is fairly bursting with content. It’s our biggest issue ever, (too big perhaps?) and it is still difficult to stop adding stuff and let it go. But Volume 8 awaits, and we must turn this one over to you.

Once again, we caution you not to judge the contents of an article by its title. You may not be interested in making a handmade book or a ceramic tile, but, as usual, we have loaded those articles with tips and tricks that are applicable to a wide range of media and projects. So keep your eyes open and your antenna rotating!

We are getting articles and projects from folks we really admire in the mixed-media art world - and which we know will just make the magazine better and better. This issue, we welcome Leslie Parsons as a contributor, and are thrilled to have another voice helping us out with the exciting field of computer art. Our own DJ Pettitt is back with another wonderful article - on offset stamping this time, and there are more great guest writers waiting for you in Volume 8.

We also find ourselves broadening our scope - to take in more and more of the “experience” of being an artist as well as what we actually can make our hands do.

Now What?, with this issue, will also begin to reflect our great and growing interest in the Book Arts and Art Journaling.

Anyway, enough from me - let’s see what you think.

Until next time,

jessica
