What are those beautiful. brilliantly colored papers with the intriguing designs that we see folks using on their handmade books and journals (and other art as well)?

They are paste papers and although they are truly art in themselves, they have a smooth velvety finish and wonderful color that makes you want to incoporate them into every project you can.

I took a paste paper workshop in Albuquerque a short time ago, and I haven’t had that much fun since fingerpainting in kindergarten.
Try it - you’ll like it.
Fun and Fast Fabric Book

Lisa is a well known lettering and calligraphy instructor and, in this workshop, she introduces lettering on fabric.

No sewing is required in the creation of this fabric book which is “bound” using fusible web..

Backgrounds on the pages will be created using a variety of techniques such as washes, tie-dying, and stenciling, and then the lettering will be added. Lisa is also teaching a Creative Lettering workshop at Art Unraveled which I am lucky to be taking.
Drawing for People Who Can’t Draw
Aisley D’Art		 Aisley promises that this workshop will be lighthearted and fun. It won’t turn you into DaVinci, but will give you the confidence to do the drawing you want to do in your journals, scrapbooks, and other paper art projects.

She has tricks that make drawing easy and will even show you how to bluff your way through a sketch.

In the afternoon, you will work with color and learn to do some painting (even if you can’t draw!).

I know that many of you find the very idea of drawing intimidating, but it’s not that hard, and once you get the hang of it, it makes such a wonderful tool for all your artistic endeavors.

Many of you know Ais as the founder/moderator of many online groups, and here is your chance to meet her in person!
