| We love our garden because of the beautiful plants, flowers, and trees. But, what makes it a garden “party” is the huge and social bird population. They fill the garden with song, flying antics, and drama of all kinds. Birds symbolize the spirit in many cultures (because they could conceivably fly to heaven if they were so inclined), and we think our garden would be missing much heart - and soul - if birds were not such a part of it. | ||||||||

| Wild birds rarely cooperate with having their pictures taken. They seem to have a sixth sense that tells them exactly when the camera is in focus - the signal to fly off. There is also an invisible boundary around them - within which a photographer dare not step. This also triggers the “fly away” response.
So, the result is that all of the photos on this CD are not as large as those on most of our CDs. Much cropping needs to be done in order to isolate the bird. Follow the 10% enlargement rule for best results if you need to make these images larger ( (see Photo Tips on the CD). The bird houses and bird statues were much more cooperative about holding still, so those images will be more normal in size. |
