Retreat Fee
A Retreat Fee of $315 covers all workshops and materials and supplies plus the opening night dinner at the Cowgirl Hall of Fame, fresh baked breakfast on Sunday, and a Red Letter Typesetter Alphabet Stamp Set (a $40 value).

A $65 non-refundable deposit is required ASAP to reserve your space, and reservations will be taken on a first come/first served basis.

The balance of $250 may be paid in two installments: The first due by January 20, 2005, and the second by March 1, 2005. Your Alphabet Stamp Set will be mailed to you upon payment in full of your retreat fee, so you can get used to using it before the Retreat.

We understand that unforeseen circumstances may cause you to have to cancel your trip. The $250 is refundable (by check) if we receive notice before March 20, 2004 - three weeks prior to the event. After that date, your fee is refundable only if we are able to replace you with someone from the waiting list.

The $65 non-refundable deposit will actually be paid to the resort for facilities reservations and will not be there to give back. Details regarding method of payment etc. can be found on the “Sign Me Up!” page. All major credit cards are accepted as well as personal checks and money orders.

Room Rates
We have negotiated some very good rates for the beautiful accomodations at Sunrise Springs - especially good if you are sharing with a friend - or ask that we find you a friend to share with.

Photos of the rooms can be found at www.sunrisesprings.com but we will describe them here since we have explored them all. All the rooms are done Santa Fe Style with handmade light fixtures and other very appealing decorative touches.

All rates are before tax.

Garden View Rooms - Big rooms with two closets, two double beds and a big bathroom, and either a balcony or small patio - $109/night for a single person - $115 if you are sharing with a friend (which means $57.50/person). Bring a friend or make one here.

There are also Garden View Rooms with one king bed for the same rates.

Spa Rooms (formerly called Pond View Rooms)
If you would like a tiny, cozy room with a view of the pond just for yourself, there are the Pond View Rooms for $89/night. These rooms are cute and comfortable and just perfect for curling up to read or relax. They are small but have everything you need (unless you need TV).

Casitas
This is the top of the line. Casita means little house in Spanish and that’s exactly what these are. Brand new casitas have their own walled patios and microwave /refrigerator type kitchenettes, two big beds for $149/night - double occupancy ($74.50 ea).

All room reservations will be made directly with the resort and be subject to their policies regarding deposits, cancellation times, etc. There are a limited number of each kind of room, so call as soon as you can to reserve your first choice. If, by any chance, they have not yet entered our event in their new computer, make sure you say you are attending the Sunrise Sanat Fe Art Retreat and we will be double checking that you get the correct room rates.

Smoking is not allowed inside any rooms or buildings on the Sunrise premises, but there is lots of comfortable outdoor seating on the grounds. See the “Sign Me Up!” page for the toll free reservation number.

Food
Your instructors will be treating you to dinner Thursday evening at the Cowgirl Hall of Fame in Santa Fe, and we will be providing a breakfast of muffins, fresh fruit, and breakfast breads (baked on the premises for us), and coffe and tea during our Sunday morning Gift Pile Party. Otherwise, eating will be your responsibility.

We explored the idea of catered meals and found the expense to be much higher than actually dining at the restaurant on the resort premises. Example: A box lunch with sandwich and chips would be $17 or so, while the restaurant lunch menu offers items from $6.95 and lots more choices (plus their Yukon Gold french fries are to die for).

We also felt that an actual meal break with change of venue is much more relaxing than eating where we work - and non-hotel food is not allowed in the classroom buildings so we could not, say, order pizza for everyone.

If you have a casita, you will be able to keep (refrigerator) and cook (microwave) food in your room, but otherwise, plan to eat at the Blue Heron or eat in town whenever time allows. The resort is about ten minutes from Cerrillos Road in Santa Fe which has all the chain restaurants you could desire, and downtown Santa Fe is known, of course, for its world class cuisine. I will add, however, that the Blue Heron just got the first 5 Star food rating I have ever seen in the local newspaper restaurant review section (and yes, they do serve wine).
