Sunrise Schedule of Activities

In between, we will explore our creativity and the steps necessary to make creating an important and prioritized part of our lives. Once some of these steps are identified, we will create symbols of them using all kinds of mixed media art processes, and connect those symbols into a “Creativity Chain” to take home and use to remind ourselves of our goal of creative balance. We will also create a “Self-Reflection” Art Doll Journal in which we will give expression to our inner and outer selves, and celebrate how the two connect.

What follows is a step-by-step breakdown of our journey through the weekend:


We will begin and end with social activities this year - parties, really, which will break the ice in the beginning, and cement the friendships at the end. In between, we will explore our creativity and the steps necessary to make creating an important and prioritized part of our lives. What follows is a step-by-step breakdown of our journey through the weekend:


Check In Time. . . at Sunrise Springs is 3 pm. We suggest that you plan your arrival so you can comfortably check into your room, rest a little, and meet us at the Main Entrance Parking Lot at 5:30 pm.

From 6-7 pm, we will be treated to an “Art Shopping” Happy Hour hosted by the famous Artisans of Santa Fe. They now have a second large and roomy store on Cerrillos Road -chock full of every type of art supply you can imagine - including a fine selection of handmade papers. We will enjoy wine, beverages and some snacks with our shopping and have the store all to ourselves. Three Gift Certificates ($10, $20, and $30) will be raffled at the beginning of the hour - to expand the shopping budget of three lucky attendees.

7:30 - 9:30 pm We will also have our own private room for our buffet dinner party at another famous Santa Fe institution - The Cowgirl Hall of Fame. We will assign seating with a quick game of “Hot Tamale” (like Hot Potato with a Southwestern twist) so that folks will get to meet each other in a random fashion and hopefully make new friends right off the bat. This event is hosted by your retreat instructors and everything will be free except drinks from the bar should you wish to order them. (Don’t worry - they take care of vegetarians too). Then, it’s back to the resort for a good night’s rest so we are ready for our big weekend:
